01. THE EX / TOM CORA - "And the Weathermen Shrug Their Shoulders.." CD
"And the Weathermen Shrug Their Shoulders is the second of two albums by Dutch punk band The Ex in collaboration with avant-garde cellist Tom Cora. This album and its predecessor, Scrabbling at the Lock, brought wider attention to both The Ex and Toma Cora as "crossover" records that bridged a perceived gap between punk rock and avant-garde music. The Ex push Cora to play more directly than usual, he may be only one player, but he has an unusually broad and exotic musical vocabulary, and with his assistance the Ex improvise and successfully interpret European and Asian folk songs onstage. a new tangent the group followed into a total free-form improvisation inspired by the likes of avant-garde jazz associates Han Bennink and Misha Mengelberg." Despite this, the group never left their punk roots behind" . CD and Inserts MINT

02. PORN / MERZBOW - '..AND THE DEVIL MAKES THREE' CD
The Japanese din merchant teams up with power trio Porn (comprising Melvins man Dale Crover on drums, bassist Billy Anderson and guitarist Tim Moss, and spouts some supremely acrid concoctions for three-quarters of an hour or so. As was the case with his Boris collaborations, Merzbow accompanied by a rhythm section takes some of the bite out of what he does but adds another dimension. It's a great album for any metal types out there who want the harshness but don't fancy the formless abstraction of Merzbow's solo works.

03. CITIZEN FISH - 'FLINCH' CD
This album is at the bridging point where all their influences and previous songs merge together and make a sound that's neither ska nor punk yet you couldn't describe it without either of those words. Some fantastic songs that are so catchy they keep you awake at night. It's a shame Citizen Fish have been pigeon-holed by their anarcho-punk past as this music is sheer genius and propels social commentary and political messages to some skank-tastic music.Promoting intelligent political discourse through their music, On Flinch, they've come up with some infectious ska grooves on songs like "T.V. Dinner," "Dividing Lines," and "Media Men." Singer Dick Lucas mixes plenty of politics, a little bit of philosophy, punk rock attitude, and no shortage of .

04: LITTLE ANNIE - 'SHORT AND SWEET' CD
Originally released in 1992, Short And Sweet is the debut LP from Annie Anxiety Bandez under the Little Annie alias, having been part of the extended On-U family for several years (with Adrian Sherwood producing her LPs for Corpus Christi and One Little Indian respectively). Features On-U mainstays Doug Wimbish, Skip McDonald and David Harrow, and contains the should-of-been hit “I Think Of You”, single of the week in the Melody Maker at the time, Annie’s
brilliantly sardonic take on the love song. This is the digipak reissue from 2010.

05: LITTLE ANNIE AND PAUL WALLFISCH - 'WHEN GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO BAD PIANOS' CD
Following last year's critically acclaimed Songs From The Coalmine Canary (prodused by Antony, of 'And the Johnsons'), Little Annie is releasing her second album on Dureto Jnana / Southern - When Godd Things Happen To Bad Pianos, produced by longtime conspirator Paul Wallfisch.
Little Annie & Paul Wallfisch first performed together at Joe's Pub in 2001 with an enraptured Dr. John, sitting front and center, asking the diva out for a date after the show.
When Good Things Happen To Bad Pianos sees the duo pouring their hearts into other people's songs, alchemically transforming songs like U2's "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and Tina Turner's signature belter "Private Dancer" into gloriously heartbreaking torch-songs and poignant, understated ballades.
The duo has spent 2007 bringing sold-out audience to tears from Athens to Copenhagen - with stops at the Donau Festival and supporting Marc Almond in Barcelona - along the way. Annie & Antony's song "Strange Love" was picked by Levi's for world-wide TV and cinema advertising and is currently running in over a dozen countries. The clip has since won 'Best Use Of Music In Advertising' at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival.

06: LITTLE ANNIE AND PAUL WALLFISCH - 'GENDERFUL' CD
Little Annie aka Annie Anxiety has had a long musical career and collaborated with everyone from Bim Sherman to Antony Hegarty (of The Johnsons), so one never knows quite what to expect from her! This album is a real triumph - my favourite since Soul Possession. Musically it harks back to the tradition of chanson, or piano torch songs a la Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsbourg etc, while lyrically it evokes the NYC narrative of Lou Reed's Transformer. Accompanied by talented composer and pianist Paul Wallfisch (whose day job is the band Botanica), Annie breathes life into the characters of her songs with a sentimentality that is never condescending, and which is infused with a devilish sense of humour and a poetic turn of phrase. Fans of Antony, Marc Almond, Piaf, Gainsbourg, et al will find much to love here.

07: SUBHUMANS - 'WORLDS APART' CD
Digipack CD : 2008 reissue
Arguably the highlight of their Eighties output, the third Subhumans album. What it lacks in rampant speed, it more than compensates for with some truly sublime compositions, assured arrangements and dizzying time changes. ‘Worlds Apart’ saw the band find a veritable sweet spot in their song-writing, spawning many of their best-loved tracks. Subhumans are one of the most influential bands from the UK Anarcho-Punk scene of the 80' and just as relevant today as they were during the darkest days of Thatcher's Britain. The band epitomizing non-conformity and connecting with people in many different scenes. This album is an essential piece of history in the world of punk that Subhumans helped create.

08: CRASS AGENDA - 'SAVAGE UTOPIA CD
5 tracks, 46 minutes. Former Crass vocalist Eve Libertine meets Coldcut beats maestro Matt Black alongside the best players from London's jazz scene on a musical journey through George Bush's Amerika. Inspired by a poem by Penny Rimbaud, Savage Utopia picks up from the disillusionment of being sold a dream and fleshes it out in 5 movements of anarcho-jazz.

09: STRATFORD MERCENARIES 'A SENSE OF SOLITUDE ' CD
A Punk Rock group made up of members of Crass, Dirt & the Buzzcocks. (1997-2000) A 3 year life span that toured the USA, Japan & Europe, I cant find a review tho.
